London Terror Attack: 7 Killed, 48 Injured, Police Shoot 3 Suspects Dead

At least seven people have been killed and 48 others injured in a terror attack in London, UK with three suspects shot dead.

A vehicle hit several pedestrians on London Bridge around 10:08 pm and continued to drive to Borough Market when the three suspects got and 'stabbed a number of people',  Police Commissioner, Cressida Dick said in a statement.

The 3 suspects were confronted and shot dead within eight minutes of the first call being received.

A British transport police officer was one of those stabbed while he tried to help, but he survived.

This is the third terror attack in the United Kingdom after the Westminster incident in March, in which five people were killed, and the Manchester bombing on May 22, which left 22 dead, BBC reported.

Commission Dick said she believes the "incident is under control". However, a large number of police officers have blocked London Bridge and Borough Market "as we need still to carry out a thorough search of the area to ensure that everyone has been accounted for, and to make the whole area safe" She added.

Assistant Commission Mark Rowley said the armed officers 'responded very quickly and bravely, confronting three male suspects who were shot and killed in Borough Market'.

He said the suspects wore what looked like explosive jackets but were later discovered to be fake.

London Ambulance said it's control room took over 100 calls and that 80 medics responded to the incident.
