Texas Hunter, Markcuz Rangel Shares Photos Of His 13lb monster Frog

A Texas Man identified as Markcuz Rangel has caused a stir on the internet after sharing photos of a '13 Pounds huge bull frog' he caught while hunting at a South Texas ranch.

The South Texas Hunting Association shared photos of the giant on its Facebook page and wrote: "Markcuz Rangel - Wanted to share a monster bull frog we got yesterday afternoon at one of our fishing ponds in South texas ranch located in Batesville tx 13lb monster frog!!! #stxha"

However a spokesman for the Texas Wildlife Department, Steve Lightfoot told Chron that the image was real, but the animal was not as big as people thought.

"It’s not as bigly as it appears," Lightfoot said

[It’s an] optical illusion created by extending frog toward the camera — similar to what you see with fishermen holding up fish to make them appear larger. Still a big bullfrog, though."

A Fact Check by Snopes on whether or not the monster frog was real also revealed that the pictures were as a result of 'forced perspective'.
