Muslim Cleric, Mohammed Al-Arefe Tells FIFA To Ban Players From Making Religious Signs of the Cross After They Win

A Saudi Arabian Muslim Cleric, Mohamad Al-Arifi has urged the international football federation, FIFA to forbid players from making signs of the cross if or whenever the score.

Muhammad, who is also a religious scholar made this known via his verified twitter account in the Arabic language.


"I saw clips of athletes, footballers running and playing. Then if someone wins, he points to his chest the sign of the cross! My Question: Are there no FIFA rules blocking religious signals?" Mohamed tweeted to his 17.4 million followers.

Daily Mail reports that many critics immediately responded to his tweet.

One Fancy said; "Even muslim players celebrate their own way. FIFA brings us together"

Another replied; "Even Muslims, when they register or win, will thank God"
