"They Tried To Change my Sound" - Davido

Nigerian singer, Davido a.k.a "Omo Baba Olowo" as he's popularly called has revealed that Sony Music "tried to change his sound".

The pop star signed a $1 million dollar deal with the record label sometime last year hinting that his musical career had gone more viral internationally.

In a post in his Instagram yesterday, Davido explained that he had to struggle with them to allow him make the music he could.

He wrote "All last year , they tried to change my sound .. saying staying true to my culture wouldn't work for me outside Africa! This year I fought and pleaded for 'them' to allow me make the music I know how to make and now see what's happened!! MUSIC AINT GOT A LANGUAGE !! NOW I GOT THE BIGGEST SONG IN AFRICA ONCE AGAIN! THANK TO JAH!!"

He also posted a video of American singer Omarion dancing to his new song "IF" in his car on Instagram, stressing that music truly had no language

Earlier this year, Davido parted ways with his longtime manager, Kamal and made several posts on his Snapchat, saying he was no longer interested in the international business, but many didn't understand him until he finally gave details yesterday.
