Tragedy: Kogi Civil Servant killed On Her way to Lokoja (Photos)

Mrs. Olubunmi Abraham, a staff of the Health Department of Mopamuro Local Government Council of Kogi State was on Saturday interred at the Okeguru Cemetery in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State after she was found dead following her alleged abduction by bandits on her way to Lokoja, Thursday.


Mrs. Abraham was reportedly declared a ghost worker by Governor Yahaya Bello’s workers screening exercise which prompted her to make a case to the Post-Screening Review Committee set up by the state government to review complaints by affected workers.

She was then invited to Lokoja for the screening exercise and embarked on a trip to the state capital on Thursday February 2nd, 2017.


According to reports, the deceased, alongside three other victims were reportedly heading to Obajana, to get bank statements of account requested for by the Kogi State Staff Audit Appeal and Complaints Committee sitting in Lokoja, when they ran into men of the underworld.

The three other abductees had been released and are back home. 

A search party of courageous hunters reportedly went round the thick forests around Bunuland and Obajana areas where they found the lifeless body of Mrs Abraham.
