Pakistan Court Bans Valentines Day Celebration

A court in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital has banned Valentine's day celebration, on grounds that it does not conform with Muslim culture.

The Court's order prohibits all Valentine's Day festivities in government offices and public spaces, display of adverts on electronic and print media that reference Valentine's Day with immediate effect.

A petition submitted by one Abdul Waheed argued that the promoted immorality, casual sex and is against Islamic laws.
