Diezani Alison Madueke loses N34 Billion to FG

A federal court in Lagos presided over by Justice Muslim Hassan on Thursday ordered the final forfeiture of N23.4 billion, N9.08 billion, and $5 million (about N34 billion in total) linked to Nigeria's former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, according to the EFCC.

According to the EFCC, the judge said he was satisfied with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) argument that the monies were proceeds of illegal activity.

This is coming after the EFCC uncovered a $37.5m (N11.75bn) luxury high-rise building on Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, allegedly belonging to the embattled former Minister.
