Buhari and Osinbajo's letters read at the Senate today.

The senate today received a letter from president Buhari over the extension of his medical leave and two letters from Osinbajo on the confirmation of acting CJN, Walter Onnoghen and the appointment of a non-career ambassador respectively.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, officially read the letter of extension of vacation transmitted to the Senate by President Muhammad Buhari.

The letter which was dated 5th February 2017, reads in part: “I am therefore, notifying the Distinguished Senate, that I am extending my leave until the doctors are satisfied that certain factors are ruled.”

Also, the Senate President read 2 different correspondences from the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The letters dated 7th of February, 2017, conveyed the nomination of Mr. Adeyinka Asekun as a non career Ambassadorial nominee from Ogun State; while the other letter sought the confirmation of Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen (CFR) as Chief Justice of Nigeria.
