Adama Barrow to be officially inaugurated as Gambian president

New Gambian President, Adama Barrow would be officially inaugurated at the country's capital, Banjul today. The event would be celebrated alongside their 52nd Independence celebration.

Adama Barrow was to be inaugurated as president last month but Yahya Jammeh had refused to step down after ruling the country for 22 years.

Jammeh later left Gambia into exile after much pressure from ECOWAS.

Reports indicate that Presidents from about 20 African countries are expected to attend the event. Majority of the leaders will be from the West African subregion, many international partners will also be expected in the ‘Smiling Coast’ of Africa to grace the occasion.
